Contemporary HRM Practice - Data Analytics

Contemporary HRM Practices
As technology is being implemented into more and more areas  of business the use of data analytics is an area that companies, and organizations are looking to for use data to gain insights that will help them gain a competitive advantage. HR analytics can be looked and used in different levels starting with operational reporting, advanced reporting, strategic analytics and predictive analytics  which can be used to help solve organizational problems. Starting with the operational reporting which is data that is looking at what has happened in the past and can help to determine what led to the results (Wattendorf, 2018). Next is advanced reporting which is the use of more reporting at a higher frequency and is looked at as a more proactive way of reporting and is more automated and looks at the relationships between the variables (Wattendorf, 2018).  Third, is the strategic analytics which  utilizes models and takes a look at different scenarios and is used to predict outcomes   (Wattendorf, 2018).  Lastly is the predictive analytics  model is used to predict what will happen in the future and  for example to predict what employee turnover an organization will have (Wattendorf, 2018).  The use of analytics of data when it comes to HR is a method that is used to gather data from different departments and is used  for projections and is a way to share knowledge and data from how one part of the organization operates to educate another  for decision making. The date is a way for HR to gain insight into  how the business is operating and use innovation for advancement. According to Shameen, the use of HR analytics in a business or organization can be used to understand the employee their talents  and give those in the position  of decision making the knowledge they need to gain comparative advantage ( Shameen, 2018). The use of data analytics is something that HR professionals need to consider for their organization because it is another tool that can be used to gain important insight to their business and how to gain an advantage.
